Ekstera Named to 2025 Foresight 50 List of Canada's Most Investible Cleantech Companies

Toronto, ON – November 4, 2025 – Ekstera has been named to Foresight Canada’s 2025 Foresight 50 list, an annual showcase recognizing the country’s most promising and investible cleantech ventures. The milestone was officially celebrated on November 4th at an exclusive event in Calgary, Alberta, bringing together industry leaders, investors, and fellow cleantech innovators.
The Foresight 50 recognition serves as a powerful validation of Ekstera's mission to address the rapidly expanding energy demand by unlocking the value of discarded industrial waste heat. Ekstera has developed patented Stirling engine technology that enables the highly efficient conversion of a wide range of heat sources into carbon-free electricity. By integrating these scalable, modular generators directly into facilities like steel mills and cement plants, Ekstera provides heavy industry with clean, affordable, and reliable electricity while reducing both costs and carbon emissions.
"We’re honoured that Ekstera has been named to Foresight Canada’s 2025 Foresight 50 list," said Brendan MacDonald, CEO of Ekstera. "This recognition is a validation of what we’re building and our mission to convert the huge amounts of industrial waste heat into clean, reliable, and affordable electricity with our innovative Stirling engine technology. Thank you to everyone supporting our journey, and a huge congratulations to all the other honourees!"
